Tacoma Jazz & Blues Festival at Freighthouse Square, The Harmon Brewery, Varsity Grill
The jazz festival main event venues on Saturday, May 23, 2009 are: Freighthouse Square, Varsity Grill and The Harmon. Bigger and better than ever! See the schedule page for exact times, most stages are 12:30-6:00 pm. We will feature top notch northwest jazz and blues musicians such as Charles White, who will be a special feature on the Blues Stage. The festival officially concludes with Tacoma’s own high energy band, Rich Wetzel’s Groovin Higher Jazz Orchestra from 5:30-7:30 pm at Freighthouse Square.
Lodging options in Tacoma include the Fife Days Inn, La Quinta Hotel, the brand new Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Tacoma or the Hotel Murano , the perfect places to stay for the festival! These hotels are close to the epicenter of the Tacoma Jazz & Blues Festival and both provide a magnificent place to stay, close to many excellent restaurants, shopping, museums and other cultural venues.
The purpose of the Tacoma Jazz & Blues festival is to support this great American musical artform, show off our great city, and to support music education in our local schools with outreach and clinic programs.
